The Exit Fee

The term exit fee refers to the fee being charged to investors for withdrawing earlier than the date agreed upon deposit. This is put in place by managers of funds to deter investors from withdrawing money early. If that happens, then they would have more time to invest the money thus increasing profit. The exit fee can also be called as redemption fee, contingent deferred sales charge, and back-end load.
