It is said that no matter how profitable the stocks you have bought, you haven’t earned a single cent yet if you don’t sell those stocks. Once you have started trading online, you have to know when to sell for you to have access to your earnings. Otherwise, they will only be figures on the screen, worth much but useless.

One of the barriers which I think is easy to understand and correct. This is emotional attachment. After much time looking for the so called “right stock”, investors may feel that they have some sort of connection with the stocks. As a wise man once said, investors should love a stock when it’s making money, if not, let it go. There are some investors who give special attention to a particular stock. And no matter what, they think they should stick to it. This is a very bad move as it could cost you a lot.
As for when to sell, investors should act like drivers reading the road. Try to learn everything about you can about where the economy is going and how certain industries are being affected by certain issues whether negatively or positively. Breaking news can tell whether it is time to buy stock from a company about to receive a major boost or time to sell stock of a company about to be hit by shift in market trends.
As I’ve stressed already, read, read, and read. Keep yourself informed and learn how the demand in the market will affect a certain company. By tuning in to what is happening in the economy, you can more or less predict what will happen to the market in the near future.
